For Travelers – Sophia's Bat Mitzvah

Welcome to the Upper Valley!

The Upper Valley (the nickname for the area of VT and NH that straddles the Connecticut River where we live) is a delightful place to visit and sightsee. There are many local attractions and places to visit.

You will need a car or car-pool transportation to get to some (or all) of the events of the weekend depending on where you are staying. Driving/walking distances to events are included below.

If you are coming without your own transportation, please let Amanda or Jeremy know so we can match you with drivers!

We encourage you to arrive by 5 pm on Friday or earlier so that you can join us for the picnic dinner starting at 6 pm on Friday.

By plane: you’ll want to be looking at the following airports and renting a car or ride-sharing:

Boston-Logan MA (2.5 hours away)
Manchester, NH (1.5 hours away)
Burlington, VT (2 hours away)

By bus: If coming from NYC or Boston without a car, you’ll want to purchase tickets with the Dartmouth Coach.

If you are staying in Hanover, you will want to get off at the Hanover stop.
If you are staying in Lebanon at the Hilton or Courtyard, you will want to get off at the Lebanon stop.

We have blocks of rooms reserved at the Hilton Garden Inn and the Courtyard by Marriott in Lebanon, both approximately 15 minutes from Friday night, Saturday and Sunday morning events, and 30 minutes from Saturday evening. You may wish to do your own search to get the best rate possible.

We have also included a range of additional accommodations below to suit different preferences and budgets if you would like to be in a more rural or scenic setting.

Unfortunately, Air BnB’s and vrbos are few and far between, but if you do wish to search (and are lucky enough to find something), please look for locations in any of the following places:

Norwich, VT.; Hanover, NH; Lebanon, NH or Lyme, NH.
